Via RedHerring: Yahoo! Research is opening up offices in Spain and Chile - their first offices outside the US. Both these will be headed by Ricardo Baeza-Yates.
This is interesting. Ricardo is an excellent speaker and a fun guy. I met him about this time last year at IIT Bombay as well as at COMAD 2005.

Meanwhile, Prabhakar Raghavan, head of Yahoo! Research, is visting IIT Bombay on the 26th for a few hours. Now, I wonder why. :-? :)
